Central Pennsylvania Scholarship Fund a volunteer 501C3 charity will be the beneficiary of the $5,000 cash award as Randy Tarpey CPA will donate the entire award to our charity. Our charity will award grants to the first five charities who comment when we post the announcement on our Pennsylvania LinkedIn Group page "Pennsylvania EITC/OSTC Tax Credit Network. Five of our 309 charities will receive some much needed funds. As this blog is the only blog Randy knows how to post to there was really no other way to enter this contest.
When I began my career as a CPA preparing state tax returns in pencil because the tax software only prepared Pennsylvania my dream was to prepare every state tax return in the USA. That task has since been eliminated by computer technology. Now I communicate and prepare taxes with US taxpayers all over the US and the world by phone, email, LinkedIn and in person and all on a computer software. ProFinder is the newest tool to obtain new clients needing my specific assistance with my specific skill set. ProFinder can be used to help me with my weak website and internet skills by hiring others for one time gigs using their specific skills and abilities.
My love of tax credits especially in Pennsylvania and especially for charities has allowed me to transcend my day job and volunteer with tax directors in large public companies and charities all over Pennsylvania. LinkedIn makes communication with these far flung friends possible and allows people interested in learning about Pennsylvania tax credits or filing their year end small business taxes or individual taxes possible. LinkedIn allows me to share my subject matter expertise with the 309 people who are specifically interested in our very narrow topic. We won't sell out a stadium or have groupies but people's lives will be better by the efficient transfer of knowledge and tax credits and donations.
I look forward to using ProFinder to meet new friends and customers. Using ProFinder to help with "gigs" beyond my abilities from people who know what they are doing will be rewarding as well.
Running a third generation small business CPA firm as the managing partner for 22 years of Sickler Tarpey and Associates's 68 years existence has been an honor and a privilege. Watching other young accountants in our firm learn about taxes by preparing tax returns and learn about giving thru facilitating tax credit donations to charities and scholarships to schools has been rewarding. Our biggest accomplishment is the $1 million plus our charity gives away directly each year with very little administrative costs.
